*Validation Test Engineer* *Folsom , CA* *9 +MONTHS* Other Skills: TESTING; Validation; WINDOWS XP/VISTA Roles & Responsibilities 3-5 yrs (tech III) The candidate will be performing validation testing following written test procedures and verbal instructions and supporting data collection to assist in the determination of the cause of validation failures. . Building and configuring Windows* XP and Vista based operating system (OS), system (BIOSs) with a variety of common peripherals including memory, PCI cards and USB devices, and multimedia software and/or hardware . Creating Ghost images of various installations . Installing Intel and third party software . Running a variety of manual testing, including the latest benchmark applications . Providing feedback and quick information turns on resolved defects and latest test status . Support additional ad-hoc testing as needed based on engineering code drop . Ability to use power meter and Data Acquisition Unit to measure system power while running applications . Ability to clearly document system configurations, settings for each test and capture the results in MS Excel . Logical system debug and troubleshooting skills . Experience with Microsoft* SDK's*, PC benchmarks, and diagnostic utilities would be an added advantage . Experience in creating and/or modifying tests and test documentation .
