[Zim-wiki] Mark a page as important/need action in the tree view
Hello everyone and thank you for the new release of this wonderful program. I've especially appreciated the new Table feature. Maybe this had been already discussed but is there a way to mark one or more specific pages as important in the tree view. I.E. making it in bold style? I have a quite large notebook but there are some few pages that really need a almost daily management. It'll be useful to find them quickly. Re: [Zim-wiki] Mark a page as important/need action in the tree view
I have tags too, but if the namespace nesting is deep, the page name is cut off in the view. Have to hoover the mouse over each link to see which page. So in order to create an easy way to have an overview, I created a separate page close to the top level. In this page, I put links to the pages that are important. That is as easy as going to the page I want to have easy access to, ctrl+shift+L and then go to the overview page and paste the link. This scheme has developed over the years to become my 'worklist'. When a task is completed, I don't delete the link, I select it and apply the strike formatting. The actual link goes away and the font becomes light gray and can be resurrected in case the task comes back to bite me. My tag space simply got too big, and my work list is almost always in the history bar because I visit it pretty often to toggle tasks. -- Svenn On 18 June 2015 at 16:19, Marco Cevoli marco.cev...@gmail.com wrote: I use tags too. Re: [Zim-wiki] Mark a page as important/need action in the tree view
Thank you all, I think Svenn solution is the most fitting to my case. I think I've also to improve my use of tags too. One of my problems in finding a tag based solution may actually be that I have too much tags (often in the same page), because mine is a multi purpouse notebook. Re: [Zim-wiki] Another feature request?
Perhaps not a one-click solution, but you can simply move the note you want to archive and sub-folder (if any) to another location using your favorite file browser (and of course you can zip it for more compact storate). After doing so, you might need to run 'update index' in the Tool menu. Be aware that if there are links in other pages to those removed notes, Zim will create 'virtual' notes which will show up in your tree. If you ever need it again, just copy it back in the Zim notebook, run the 'update index' function and you are good to go. What I would like to see is an archive option. Zim is now the heart of my day by day activities, and I keep adding entries to my wiki(s). They keep growing and by now they contain entries, and associated attachments, related to closed projects, things done etc. In my opinion it would be very nice to be able to migrate selected wiki entries, and their associated attachments, out of the wiki. One option would be to export them in a packed format just maintaining a link and providing the ability to reload them on demand. Much easier and still useful would be the option to move them to another wiki. This would allow to have active wikis and historical ones.
