[Zim-wiki] Performance

2014-10-23 Thread John Geoffrey
Has anyone else noticed a drop in performance for Zim since the last
update? All of a sudden switching to other pages takes way longer than
before. Beforehand it was barely noticeable, right now I have situations
where the whole application greys out for a minute before it does anything.

I haven't experienced this. (Obviously, else I would not release it..)

Any specifics when you experience them - pages with many attachments,
switching multiple pages fast, ... ?

And maybe good to know what platform you are on.

Jaap

Re: [Zim-wiki] new zim user : hello ant a little question

2014-10-23 Thread Brendan Kidwell
Eric,

Zim supports a minimal set of rich text formatting rules including
emphasis, strong emphasis, highlight, hyperlinks, ordered and unordered
lists, headings, blockquotes, and inline images. But it does not support
many other rules typically found in word processors such as tables,
typeface and font size choices, color, line height, custom margins and
indentation, or center, right, and justified alignment.

These restrictions may help to keep you focusing on the message instead
of fiddling with styles, and it keeps the software simpler. (We may get
tables some day though; there's been a lot of talk about it.)

It should be obvious but I have not found how.

P.S. sorry for this very basic issue !!!

2014-10-23 Thread Jaap Karssenberg
Hi Eric,

Afraid zim does not support align left/center/right. You can only align
left and indent.

The reason is that we have a simplified editor based on wiki text. Adding
such alignment options makes the wiki format more complex.

So far I did not see a need for this.

Jaap

Re: [Zim-wiki] How to install gtksourceview2 on Windows

2014-10-23 Thread Brendan Kidwell

I'll keep this in mind next time I get a chance to work on it.

My name is Brendan.

 Hi Brendan,

In the meantime I found a workaround to get the Source View plugin up
and running on Windows. I've updated the Wiki page with installation
 instructions:

Brandon, is it possible to add the gtksourceview2 to the
 Windows setup?
