Hi Lino,
The easiest way to bring Zim to focus from Windows tray is to create a
shortcut to Zim.exe and associate it with a key combination.
Try the following:
* Find Zim.exe, right-click over it and select create shortcut.
* Right-click over Zim shortcut and select properties.

I don't know about Zim, but you might be able to attach a shortcut key to a
batch file that calls Zim from the command line.
In windows, calling "Zim" from the command line while it is minimized to
the tray, should be able to open it up.

This is a recurrent issue (search the archives for markdown). It seems
that interpreting markdown syntax would be a major change.
I requested that, at least, zim would accept *.md files as pages along
with *.txt files. Even if the syntax were not interpreted, including
md documents in the zim
