Re: [Zim-wiki] Mark a page as important/need action in the tree view

2015-06-18 Thread Alessia Moretti
Thank you all,
I think Svenn solution is the most fitting to my case. I think I've also to
improve my use of tags too. One of my problems in finding a tag based
solution may actually be that I have too much tags (often in the same
page), because mine is a multi purpouse notebook.
Thanks Alessia

cut off in the view. Have to hoover the mouse over each link to see which
page. So in order to create an easy way to have an overview, I created a
separate page close to the top level. In this page, I put links to the
pages that are important. That is as easy as going to the page I want to
have easy access to, ctrl+shift+L and then go to the overview page and
paste the link. This scheme has developed over the years to become my
'worklist'. When a task is completed, I don't delete the link, I select it
and apply the strike formatting. The actual link goes away and the font
becomes light gray and can be resurrected in case the task comes back to
bite me. My tag space simply got too big, and my work list is almost always
in the history bar because I visit it pretty often to toggle tasks.

I have a quite large notebook but there are some few pages that really

Re: [Zim-wiki] Attachments management

Thanks Marco for your answer. I usually export in html with one of the
default template. I'm using linux (Xubuntu) and I think there should be a
similar comand line tool. I just wanted to know how many and which
attachments there are in the whole zim notebook (with its subdirectories)
to check if everything is done. I think I've to run some command like ls(?)
recursively against the notebook top level directory. I'm not very
knowledgeable of the command like though.
Thanks again

Since it seems there is no easy way to add search to the server I made
the patch attached (against master). There's an example search box in
 the "Default_with_index" template.

But this got me thinking, now I'm looking for other features, tag list,
task list, maybe even marking tasks directly from the server or editing
pages... This seems to be a little too much for this server. Using a
framework, Django or whatever, would be easier. Maybe a separated
 project from Zim?

Thank you very much. The only thing I noticed in these few days I used
0.73.0 is that it tends to crush a bit. I'm on Xubuntu

[Zim-wiki] Managing zim journal extension remotely (via dropbox)

2020-07-25 Thread Alessia Moretti
Hello everyone,
I use a lot the journal extension of zim (zim 0.73 on Ubuntu 18.4) to keep
track of things. In this time of year (summer here) I rarely have time to
stay at my pc so I've got used to use a copy of zim notebooks that I have
on my Dropbox folder. For editing the files I use the inbuilt Dropbox
editor but I think this is indifferent on regard of my question. Sometimes
I have to create a new journal page (my journal is split in weeks, so 1
journal page is a week.) The question is: Is it possible to create a new
journal page correctly recognized by zim, using a simple text editor? In
particular what header I should use? I think I'll be able to put it in the
correct folder and format correctly the days, but I'm not confident that
zim will recognize it.
Many thanks
Alessia
