Dear all, Just checked in a number of patches that should improve the "snappiness" of zim. I fixed one memory leak which could account for some reports of zim being slow on switching between windows. Another important new feature is that a number of actions that are slow because of accessing the hard-drive are now handled in a background thread. This helps to move saving the history and state information out of the critical path as well as putting all version control commands in the background.
Some of the improvements are hard to benchmark in real numbers, but my -subjective- impression is that things run quite a bit smoother now. Will release a new version including these fixes in ~ 1 week. Anyone who wants to check them out and test them before that time, just grab the development tree up to revision 215.
