Re: [Zim-wiki] [Virus Error] Installing Zim 0.65 on MacOS Sierra
You would not lose the ability to link to files int the MacOS file system if you know in advance which filesystems you'd like. You can map local directories to the Docker container - but it can't be done on the fly - needs to be specified at run time. Most likely you will lose the ability to link to emails. You can reference this URL to get started: http://blog.alexellis.io/linux-desktop-on-mac/ I have a draft blog post which focuses on the steps to get zim running which is partially completed: http://usedgoodies.com/2016/06/13/linux-gui-on-os-x-using-docker-for-mac/ Hopefully the two articles above will be enough to help you get started. Is this https://github.com/jaap-karssenberg/zim-wiki/wiki/Install-on-OS-X-using-Platypus not working? This is what I do, although have not tried with the latest versions of MACOS and zim Agus On Sun, Jan 29, 2017 at 5:30 PM, Christoph Heldwrote: >> Another option is to run zim in a Linux docker container, and then use socat >> and X11 to display on the Mac. >> >> Let me know if you're interested in the details.. > > This would probably mean that I would lose the ability to link to files in > the macOS file system or emails, any local files for that matter, or not > necessarily? > > In any case, yes, please advise how to proceed, I’d love to learn how it can > be done. > Thanks for your response > C > ___ > Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki > Post to : zim-wiki@lists.launchpad.net > Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki > More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- Agustin Lobo aloboa...@gmail.com ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki Post to : zim-wiki@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~zim-wiki More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

This would probably mean that I would lose the ability to link to files in the macOS file system or emails, any local files for that matter, or not necessarily? In any case, yes, please advise how to proceed, I’d love to learn how it can be done.
