Re: [Zim-wiki] [Virus Error] Installing Zim 0.65 on MacOS Sierra

2017-01-29 Thread Jeffrey Liu
You would not lose the ability to link to files int the MacOS file system
if you know in advance which filesystems you'd like.
You can map local directories to the Docker container - but it can't be
done on the fly - needs to be specified at run time.

Most likely you will lose the ability to link to emails.

You can reference this URL to get started:
http://blog.alexellis.io/linux-desktop-on-mac/

I have a draft blog post which focuses on the steps to get zim running
which is partially completed:
http://usedgoodies.com/2016/06/13/linux-gui-on-os-x-using-docker-for-mac/

Hopefully the two articles above will be enough to help you get started.

Is this
https://github.com/jaap-karssenberg/zim-wiki/wiki/Install-on-OS-X-using-Platypus
not working?
This is what I do, although have not tried with the latest versions of
MACOS and zim

This would probably mean that I would lose the ability to link to files in the
macOS file system or emails, any local files for that matter, or not
necessarily?

In any case, yes, please advise how to proceed, I’d love to learn how it can be
done.
Thanks for your response
