You probably can. Who is the manufacturer? I know that both Dell and Compaq know the identity of the owner from the serial number (or in Dell's case, the service number). Paul, I suggest you contact the computer manufacturer and ask them. If the person has registered his computer (which is more likely than registering his Windows or other software), you may be able to track him down. They may not give out the information, but they would probably relay your information to the owner, so the owner could get in touch with you.
