Something which I've settled in my mind and thought I had no problem with is the same
problem that these folks - and most of us at one time or another - have had: What
about the times when our priesthood leaders are incorrect?
Unlike many denominations, the Church of Jesus Christ has never
Stacy, in a past calling I had to attend church disciplinary councils and was present

enough to attend several church disciplinary councils wherein the person was
re-communicated I guess you'd call it. Their

There was an original e-mail from JWR? Never saw it.
It's entirely possible, Stacy. However, I had the same trouble with Topica (with Zion
and with other lists) when I had my MSN account and my MStar account.

That IS a nice thought (even for a diabetic). And, nope, I didn't get that post. And
it is strange how far off-topic we got. Who knows where it will lead this time?

Isn't this speaking out against priesthood?
Chet opines: Possibly. But the priesthood (not necessarily every male who holds the
priesthood) has really broad shoulders and can take much more severe criticism than
this.

It's Wednesday night at 9 pm and the phone rings.

The bishopric (of our newest ward in Marysville, Michigan) just asked us to give talks
on Sunday. Oh, and for Cherie to teach the Gossip Doctrine class.

Your policy sounds really good to me, Bill, and I agree with it. I've never

I'm actually quite pleased with this. I think Arnold is one of the more intelligent

Strangely, John, I was looking this up not that long ago. And I couldn't find
anything which indicated the Lord's salvation was anything less than the best He has
to offer. I wondered then if this is where John Taylor picked up his the Kingdom of

For us, it was the constant attention. Almost every day and night, we had someone
from the ward dropping by, helping us get acclimated to the new lifestyle, explaining
the new jargon. It was the friends who decided to pick up our oldest daughter every

This is an manualresponder. I'll probably get fed up with this and cancel my Zion list

Heidi, you are doing something and wonderful. This is precisely how our family was
indoctrinated into Mormon Life 101. It was difficult for our kids - you remember
the age in which Having Friends was more important than breathing? For Cherie me,
the testimony came first and strong; the
TIME Magazine or NY Times Magazine? The latter is
definitely part of the NY Times..

Though the advocates of SSM (even the initials seem dirty) are, as you say,
working together (showing a masterful example of co-operation which
Protestant Christianity has rarely done) I think we can still hold to the
old adage that any one person, plus the Lord, is a majority.
However, I would
