I've bragged about the high quality of Alberta's public school systems
before (especially wrt math and science). It appears it's not just my
innate hometown boosterism -- standardized testing works. The National
Post, the more conservative of our two national dailies, starts a series
which looks at school systems in various places (tomorrow they look at
Texas), and gives high marks to Alberta, and "nice try but no cigar" to
Ontario:
