A few months ago, it was decided that 3.9 would use a different cache format than 3.8. I now realize that this was a bad idea. :)
I'm probably going to change the cache format used by 3.9 so that 3.9 can read ZODB 3.8 zeo caches. This change may be incompatible with the current (alpha) 3.9 format. This is a heads up that caches created with the current 3.9 alpha release may not be useable with future 3.9 releases.
