Re: [zones-discuss] zone hung in shutting_down status

2008-11-23 Thread Ihsan Zaghmouth
Jerry,

Usually zoneadm -z zonename unmount -f works for me but not this time so I
diid the followings:

I ran the following 2 commands and got out of the state:
1) zoneadm -z zonename reboot -- -s
2) pkill -9 -z zonename (from a second terminal)

Zone moved into Ready state and I was able to bring it up again.

[zones-discuss] zone 'build': WARNING: bge0:1: no matching subnet found in netmasks(4) for 10.0.3.215; using default of 255.0.0.0.

2008-11-23 Thread Alexander Skwar
Good morning!

I just booted my OpenSolaris 2008.11 rc1b snv_101a system and started
a non-global zone, which I have.

--($ ~)-- pfexec zoneadm -z build boot
zone 'build': WARNING: bge0:1: no matching subnet found in netmasks(4)
for 10.0.3.215; using default of 255.0.0.0.

Why did this happen? /etc/inet/netmasks is (discounting the default
comments) empty (on both the ngz and the global zone). It always was.
I did not have this problem, when I booted my system Friday morning.

I now have added

  10.0.0.0 255.255.248.0

to the netmasks file in the global zone and I no longer get this
message when booting the zone, but why is it, that I now all
of a sudden need to have that line?
