The zone shouldn't be aware of it.
It does break Live Upgrade of zones, other than that it should work OK.

Since 'guest domain' is not a zones concept, it might help if you
indicate which virtualization technique you are using to create
the guest domain. LDom, Xen, other? Zones and other domain
techiques are not mutually exclusive, but all combinations may
not have been test yet.

AFAIK, Currently, zone supports for adding ZFS dataset,

but seems not support use ZFS as root filesystem.

[zones-discuss] In guest domains, zones not booting if it is on ZFS file system

2007-08-08 Thread Subramanian Chockalingam
Hi,

I created guest domains and used sparse root model zones on a ZFS file system.
Zone configuration and installation went on successfully, but it does not boot.
No messages on the console. So, i installed it on a UFS file system, then local
zones were running.

Is there any limitation to run local zone on ZFS file system, inside a guest
domain?

Thanks & regards,
Subbu
