Hi,

IHAC raising an issue of hanging processes from an Oracle best practices document with Zones, that FSS is not certified with Oracle.

Subject: Running Oracle Database in Solaris 10 Containers - Best Practices
Doc ID: Note:317257.1 Type: WHITE PAPER
Last Revision Date: 02-MAY-2006 Status: PUBLISHED

It states:
As of this version of the document, FSS is not certified with Oracle processes. If a problem happens with FSS, the
same problem needs to be reproduced with standard time sharing scheduler before logging a bug/defect with Oracle.

Any comments, feedbacks or lessons learned ?

cheers
Ihsan

FSS/Oracle

Ishan,

Oracle databases in zone sometimes hang. And we are not able to reboot just that zone, but having to reboot the main one. I.e

having to shutdown all databases then reboot the main domain. In our case it is revman.

I contacted oracle. Attached is the document from Oracle “Running Oracle database in Solaris 10 containers Best practies”.
This document was revised May 2
nd, 2006. Per this document, FSS is not certified with Oracle processes (page 5 ,  Fair Share scheduler, last paragraph).

Can we switch to TSS? Pleas advise.

Thanks,

Sue Reddy
