I'm getting ready to apply the latest recommenced patch cluster to my system. I have several sparse root zones as well. I see where the latest version of patch 119254, fixes a lot of issues with patching zones. Is is best to stop all applications running on the zone (Oracle Apps & Web-Servers) leave the zone up and running, then apply the patches? Going forward, the zones can be down and the patches would be applied correctly.

with 119243-31 or higher, zones that are halted ( or the system in
Single User Mode ) should all patch fine.
In general it is best to stop applications before applying patches in
all cases.
Currently the rev of the patch tools patch on SunSolve is
119254-34/119255-34 ( sparc/x86 )

When the patch applied, did it update the /usr/share/lib/zoneinfo/* files in
the zone (like America/New_York)?
