[Zope] Suggestion for an opensource barchart/piechart graphic package in python
Hi all. I'm looking for an alternative to python gdchart for barchart/piechart in a web application. I'm looking to python gdchart 2, but I'm not sure on the status of maintenance of the project itself. Can someone provide advice? Re: [Zope] Suggestion for an opensource barchart/piechart graphic package in python
You might want to look at ChartDirector (http://www.advsofteng.com). It isn't opensource, but it has many features, works with Python well, and is free if you don't mind a small watermark in your charts. The license is reasonable, too. I use it extensively in conjunction with python, buiding gnuplot files and data that are then used to generate image files. Granted that I only work in a *nix environment which is built on the principle of building on the work of others and is easy to tie disparate programs together to accomplish a job. For example, I have a python script I run at one of our ISP customers that gathers postfix mail queue sizes from a cluster of mail servers creating data files and a gnuplot script to generate a plot of mail queue size over time for each cluster server. If you are looking for publications quality charts, you can make a Zopeish wrapper for pychart. http://home.gna.org/pychart/ On Sun, 18 Feb 2007, Richard Jones wrote: On Sunday 18 February 2007 08:24, Marco Bizzarri wrote: On 2/17/07, Bill Campbell [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: On Sat, Feb 17, 2007, Marco Bizzarri wrote: Hi all. Re: [Zope-DB] Please help me about driver adapter
Dear AJ, Yes, I know about that but I'm a student. Moreover, It is a part of my research that mean I do it as my study. I think that If I develop it successful then my school will use it. They will buy it but not now. You see? I think free product is the best way to me in the current. If you know about pymssql, please help me. Am 17.02.2007, 13:52 Uhr, schrieb Robert-Reinder Nederhoed [EMAIL PROTECTED]: Dear Nguyen, For as far as I know, mxODBC is free to use in a non-commercial environment. So you can freely use it for your research or graduation project. Once your school adopts your application, they can licence mxODBC. This is not correct. Only the Python mxODBC driver which is part of the mxCommercial package is free for non-commerical use. However, due to persistent abuse (we sell less than one licence for every thousand downloads) we are reviewing this policy for future releases. So for you, it seems to be legally free after all No (but then neither is MS SQL), but we have issued Minh Quang with an evaluation licence and are prepared to extend evaluation periods providing we are given full details. BTW. a lot of people seem to be using mxODBC together with Oracle and Oracle's Instant Client driver. Unfortunately if our support requests are anything to go by the Instant Client driver seems to crash a lot.
