Hi Wolfgang, On Fri, Jun 19, 2009 at 2:43 AM, Wolfgang Schnerringw...@gocept.com wrote: Hi there, * Sidnei da Silva sidnei.da.si...@gmail.com [2009-06-18 14:28]: I'm asking because I noticed that basically all SVN-DVCS conversion tools (hg convert, git-svn, bzr svn-import, svn2bzr, svn-fast-export.py, svn-all-fast-export.cpp) do not convert the history properly, more precisely, history that happened on branches is lost: Here's some context about this from one of the Bazaar developers, John Arbash Meinel. Hopefully that will solve some of your questions? Thanks for relaying! I'm not really sure what he means by edit and then merge without a commit inbetween. So I'm assuming there is one. Sorry for being overly brief in my description; please find below a sample shell script to set up a Subversion repository with a project containing a trunk and a branch. To reproduce the problem I'm concerned about, do this: $ create-repos.sh repos $ svn log repos/project/trunk/feature.txt r9 | wosc | 2009-06-18 17:11:46 +0200 (Thu, 18 Jun 2009) | 1 line merged feature1 r8 | wosc | 2009-06-18 17:11:43 +0200 (Thu, 18 Jun 2009) | 1 line implemented feature1 As you can see, Subversion reports the history of the file that happenened on the branch (in r8). Can you show us your 'svn --version'? I suspect what you're seeing is a result of svn 1.5 merge tracking. After converting the repository, however... $ bzr init-repo repos-bzr $ cd repos-bzr $ bzr svn-import file://$PWD/../repos $ bzr log repos/project/trunk/feature.txt revno: 3 svn revno: 9 (on /project/trunk) committer: wosc timestamp: Thu 2009-06-18 14:11:46 + message: merged feature1 ... this history is lost. Not only does it not appear in the log output, also when looking at bzr visualize it seems like that branch never existed at all in bzr. (I'm new to bzr, am I missing something here?) Like John said, it *should* be possible to bring that information over if the svn repository is in 1.5 format and contains informations about merge, but at the moment that (apparently) hasn't been implemented. -- Sidnei da Silva Canonical Ltd. [Zope] MailingLogger 3.3.0 Released!
I'm pleased to announce a new release of Mailinglogger. Mailinglogger provides two handlers for the standard python logging framework that enable log entries to be emailed either as the entries are logged or as a summary at the end of the running process. The handlers have the following features: - customisable and dynamic subject lines for emails sent - emails sent with an X-Mailer header for easy filtering - flood protection to ensure the number of emails sent is not excessive - support for SMTP servers that require authentication - fully documented and tested In addition, extra support is provided for configuring the handlers when using ZConfig, Zope 2 or Zope 3. The latest releases of ZConfig, in particular, provide a great way to configure the python logging framework without having to resort to the appalling .ini-based configuration stuff: from ZConfig import configureLoggers configureLoggers(''' ... logger ...level INFO ...logfile ... PATH STDOUT ... format %(levelname)s %(name)s %(message)s .../logfile ... /logger ... ''') This release of MailingLogger adds the ability to use %(levelname)s in subject-line formatting for SummarisingLoggers to include the highest level logged. For more information, please see: http://www.simplistix.co.uk/software/python/mailinglogger or http://pypi.python.org/pypi/mailinglogger cheers, Chris -- Simplistix - Content Management, Zope Python Consulting - http://www.simplistix.co.uk ___ Zope maillist - Zope@zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )
[Zope] sx.translations 1.2 released!
I'm pleased to announce a new release of sx.translations. This release records the dates untranslated msgids were first seen. sx.translations provides components for use with Zope 3 and Zope 2 + Five that implement both ITranslationDomain and ILanguageAvailability as well as supporting the recording of untranslated msgids. This means that, not only do the components support the interface require to provide messages to Zope 3's i18n framework, they can also be used to generate a list of available languages using code similar to the following: from zope.component import getUtility from zope.i18n.interfaces import ILanguageAvailability from zope.i18n.locales import locales, LoadLocaleError domain = 'myproject' def getLanguages(self): options = getUtility(ILanguageAvailability, domain).getAvailableLanguages() options.sort() result = [] for option in options: lang = option[0] try: locale = locales.getLocale(lang) except LoadLocaleError: # probably not a real locale continue result.append( {'code':lang, 'name':locale.displayNames.languages[lang], ) return result Sample ZCML for configuration could be: configure xmlns=http://namespaces.zope.org/zope;; xmlns:i18n=http://namespaces.simplistix.co.uk/translations;; !-- make the sx.translations' registerTranslations directive available -- include package=sx.translations file=meta.zcml / !-- register our locales using sx.translations -- i18n:registerTranslations locales=../locales missing=../locales/myproj.pot encoding=utf-8/ /configure For more information, please see: http://www.simplistix.co.uk/software/zope/sx.translations cheers, Chris -- Simplistix - Content Management, Zope Python Consulting - http://www.simplistix.co.uk ___ Zope maillist - Zope@zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Tres Seaver tsea...@... writes: Sean Fulmer wrote: Hi all - I recently upgraded to Safari 4 on Leopard 10.5.7. Since doing so, my Zopes' VHM objects no longer show me the 'Mappings' (mange_edit) tab. The same thing happens in recent WebKit nightlies. It does not appear to be a rendering bug - the tab isn't even the markup. Other browsers I've tried (Firefox 3.0.11, Opera 9.65, Camino 2.0b3) don't exhibit the problem. I've checked this on Zope 2.8.5 and 2.10.5 with the same result. I realize this is more of a Safari problem than a Zope problem, but I was just curious if anyone else had run into this, and if so, could suggest a solution. This smells like a permissions problem, and particularly the Add Site Roots permission. Is Site Root in the ZMI add menu when you use Safari? in Firefox? And are you double-sure that you are logging in with the same credentials in both browsers? To double check, don't let either browser supply the password: type it yourself. Thanks for the advice! I've checked my authentication in both browsers, and they are the same. SiteRoot does appear in the Add menu in Safari, and I'm able to add one with no complaints from Zope. I should mention that I have no problems setting my VHM mappings, eg I can manually navigate to http://domain.com/virtual_hosting/manage_edit in Safari 4 and set the mappings. It's just that virtual_hosting/manage_main does not present the link, eg: manage_main: http://shots.noandwhere.com/vhm_manage_main_missing_mappings_tab.png When I do go to manage_edit directly, the Mappings tab *does* appear: http://shots.noandwhere.com/vhm_manage_edit_has_mappings.png Crazy, right? -- Sean ___ Zope maillist - Zope@zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )
