[Zope] Proxy Error on Squishdot Re-catalog.

2008-10-09 Thread Ignacio Valdes
Hello all, Linux Medical News http://www.linuxmednews.com is a quite
large Squishdot based website. I am attempting to re-catalog all
postings which is a fairly lengthy process. When I try to do this, it
works for a period of time then gives this message:

Proxy Error

The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server.
The proxy server could not handle the request POST /.

Reason: Error reading from remote server

Apache/2.2.6 (Fedora) Server at linuxmednews.com Port 80

What should I do?

[Zope] Using sendmail on FC5 with Zope 2.8.7

2006-07-05 Thread Ignacio Valdes

Hi, I'm trying to get Mailhost to work on Fedora Core 5 with Zope
2.8.7. Sendmail is up and running on FC5, Mailhost is installed and
set to localhost, port 25. However, nothing seems to happen when an
e-mailable event occurs. I did not configure sendmail in anyway, it
was the stock one on FC 5 install. I don't know where to begin as to
how to get this to work.

Looking at the running daemon's, it only shows sendmail, no exim. I
have an O'Reilly book on sendmail that shall remain nameless. Thoughts
on the book: unhelpful, daunting and examples don't work. Egads.

This basically an off-topic question. You might check the mail
logfiles
to figure out about potential sendmail problems. Btw. are you sure
that FC5 uses sendmail? FC5 used to use Exim.

[Zope] No joy on 8080.

2006-06-25 Thread Ignacio Valdes

Hello all,

I installed Zope on Fedora Core 5 using yum install zope, I opened
port 8080 with lokkit, then I started it up using zopectl start. This
is all on a headless server by ssh so I can't check
http://localhost:8080 but http://server ip address:8080 on my browser
doesn't work. I do have xampp apache running as well and can get the
xampp welcome screen to appear but with xampp apache started or
stopped http://server ip address:8080 doesn't do anything. I'm baffled
as to what to do next. What should I try?

Thanks!

I'd also trylocalhost or check your host file for your machine

[Zope] Rating site.

2001-01-31 Thread Ignacio Valdes

Hello, I'm trying to build a rating site for medical software which will
be identical in functionality to the http://www.icewalker.com and/or
http://www.zope-treasures.com site except for the purple colors. I'm
currently running squishdot, which I could use pretty easily if you
could add extra fields associated with a squish article, but so far I
haven't had success in that direction :-( I've asked the zope-treasures
people for their code, but they are running Sybase behind theirs and I'm
using Zope only. Does anyone know of something that I might use for
this? Or if it is possible to add fields to a squish article? I know PTK
will have this, but I'm facing competition so I need to get something
working soon. -- IV

[Zope] Can't get simple count to work.

2000-11-24 Thread Ignacio Valdes

Hello all,

I have a Squishdot site at http://www.linuxmednews.com that I've
successfully been able to make a page that has a one line link of all
the articles that have appeared on the site. Unfortunately, the number
has grown to a few hundred and I need to make it display n lines at a
time as well as count them so I can keep track. I am trying to use the
following code to display them with a count, but I've tried just about
everything and spent hours on this 'simple' task, but can't get it to
work. This is as close as I could get only it numbers the articles that
appeared on a particular day, then jumps to the next day that articles
where posted. i.e. not a smooth 1 to n count. You can see what it does
at: http://www.linuxmednews.com/linuxmednews/display_old_articles Could
anyone have a look?
