Subject: [Zope] News tickers

 Hello!

I'm looking for News Products (yes, I know KM News :). I need a news
 ticker with the followin features:
-- rubrics in news item - one item can belong to few rubrics (it is
news
item about both Zope and Python, e.g)
-- one customizeable interface for entering news items in different
   rubrics
-- few different customizeable interfaces for viewing every rubric
-- SQL storage (SQL seems much more natural storage for news items than
   ZODB)
-- export to RDF/RSS

I am not in hurry, I'll write such Product myself if I couldn't find
one
 ready.

Also I'm looking a Product to import RDF/RSS files - I rememeber seeing
 it somewhere.

Oleg.(All opinions are mine and not of my employer)

 Help!

Zope 2.1.6 refuses to work in the middle of an external method on my
i386 running under OpenBSD 2.7. Is says:

 OSError
[Errno 24] Too many open files: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'

I've never ever seen this problem before and this external method
used to work well until some minutes ago. Now the error keeps
reappearing even after rebooting and also other external methods that
used to run well now deliver the same message.

Does anybody have suggestions how to diagnose/cure this problem?

Re: [Zope] WorldPilot and UW-IMAP?

Look at the list archives (keyword WorldPilot) there is a patch to apply to

Objet : [Zope] WorldPilot and UW-IMAP?

 Greets,
I'm experiencing an issue with WorldPilot not showing the body of messages
that have attachments. I can only guess that this is because WorldPilot
was designed for use with the Cyrus IMAP server and I'm using it on a
stock RedHat system, which I presume sports UW-IMAP.

I've searched around and not found too much detail about UW vs. Cyrus
for WorldPilot. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether or not my problems
are due to using UW-IMAP and generally whether it's worthwhile to suffer
a Cyrus install, vs. a hack or patch to WorldPilot? I frankly don't
want or need what Cyrus has to offer.

I really like WorldPilot and I'm trying to push it on an office full of
people, but you can imagine how thrilled they are about not being able
to read select messages. They are starting to make noises about wanting
to go back to Outlook now. (shudder)

 Thanks for any clues,
 Charlie

Hi all,

What is the new way to apply the "__no_before_traverse__" using SiteAccess2

When I was younger, in SiteAccess1, I used to postfix my URL with this (ex :

apply ; this enabling to play with the management interface on a broken

What is the "nowadays way to to this (TM)" ?

 hi all,

I've written a bot in python 2.0 and it's running on the same machine as
 zope 2.2.

I'd like somehow to be able to send messages from zope (like...start and
stop or go trawl this site etc) to the OTHER version of python running my

I've tried using external methods but because the other version of python
has ODBC stuff and Tkinter etc python methods can't "talk" to my app. It
 errors on import...

Should I try to add my bot to the python that comes included with zope (Is
it python 2.0?) or does anybody have any better ideas...

 thanks

And, at last, I have a index_html like this :

"""

"""
(All the items are in the same folder , whose id=test and no title)

When viewing http://localhost:8080/test/ the result I expect is :

I am rendering the My Document page !

OK ?

But I got :

I am rendering the test page !

THE DTML-WITH DID NOTHING !!

What makes me become crasy is that http://localhost:8080/test/mydoc/render

Can anyone explain me this ?

And by the way give a solution to my problem ??? Of course I cannot use the

[Zope-dev] [BUG] Python 2.1.2 Zope 2.4.1

2002-01-27 Thread Olivier Deckmyn

Hi,

I decided to upgrade my Python 2.1.1 to Python 2.1.2 (in order to gently
move to 2.5 later).

My Zope instances were working quite finebut...randomly I got a core
dump (!) and the following message in logs :

assertion STACK_LEVEL() = f-f_stacksize failed: file Python/ceval.c,
line 687

Bug seems to appear when playing with ZCatalog (CMF sites could'nt even
render a page) and Python scripts ?

After some hours of researches, I have a (dirty, really) fix :

I had to modify Python sources and hack line 687 in ceval.c : I removed
it...
Then recompile and it seems to work. I know this is dirty, and my Zope my
crash later.

PLEASE CHECK and HELP !

This looks like a major serious bug to me.

Cheers,

Olivier.

Re: [Zope-dev] [BUG] Python 2.1.2 Zope 2.4.1

2002-01-27 Thread Olivier Deckmyn

This has been explained recently (-- mailing list archives, probably
 through Google search for f_stacksize).

I did, without a great success.

Summary, you need to upgrade Zope, too!

If only I could...

You can't make your customer migrate their Zope version in 2hours. Our
servers are hosting dozens of website for dozens of customer.
Moving to a newer Zope is not just a matter of installing a new version...

For example, we have a CMF site that will only work with Zope 2.4.1. We
tried to migrate to CMF 1.2 or Zope 2.4.3, without success (crashes,
security machinery misteries, etc.).
CMF is still too dark to manipulate it as we would wish.

 Viele Grüße
 Dieter

Re: [Zope-dev] [BUG] Python 2.1.2 Zope 2.4.1

2002-01-28 Thread Olivier Deckmyn

Please, please, please, don't propagate dodgy and incorrect fixes like
the above (removing the assertion). The assertion is in the code for a
 very, very good reason.

I obviously know this !! But couldn't find another way to have my servers
restart this sunday.

I just regret that this problem was not warned anywhere clearly. I must not
be the only one that have had seen this happen !

But I know it now :-)

Anyway, many thanx to every one who gave help.

Olivier.
