I'm wondering is it possible to implement a way that Zope asks for a
password, but not for a login?
eg. like you would give several people the same login password, but that
the users don't have to enter the login, only the password?

I had an older version of LoginManager (0.3) installed
on my default Zope installation (2.1.6) running on a
RH 6.3 Linux. I downloaded and installed LoginManager
0.8.6 and then things started getting weird.
LoginManager and PTK were both being reported as
broken products.

ZPatterns library some verison of ZPatterns totally lack the
