[Zope-Coders] [Zope2.9] Schedule

2005-10-31 Thread Andreas Jung

Hi everyone,

with Zope 2.9 and Zope 3.2 we are switching to a time-based release cycle.
Major release are supposed to appear every six months (December and June).

For Zope 2.9 the schedule is as follows:

- 2.9 beta 1 on 2005-11-07
- 2.9 beta 2 aka RC1 on 2005-11-20
- 2.9 final on 2005-12-01

The 2.9 SVN branch will be created for the 2.9 beta 1 release. After
creation the 2.9 branch will be feature-frozen and open only for bug-fixes.

The trunk is then open again for new features (Zope 2.10).

We are planning a bug day for Zope 2.9 and Zope 3.2 for this Friday,
November 4th (somewhere on irc.freenode.net, channel to be announced).

Cheers,
Andreas

[Zope-Coders] Back/new Zope 2 release schedule?

2005-09-13 Thread Andreas Jung

Hi,

I am back from vacation.

Anything important happened meanwhile that would require a new release soon?
Otherwise I do propose 2.7.8 and 2.8.2 releases for mid-October.

Cheers,
Andreas

Because of some traveling next week I will push back the release for one or
two days (means Jul 28th or 29th). Hope this won't hurt anyone.

Just the usual reminder from the release management :-) Zope 2.8.1 b1
will be released next Wednesday

Is this correct? Please confirm.

http://www.zope.org/Wikis/DevSite/Projects/Zope2.8/MilestonePlan

still says

2.8.1 b1: 2005/7/27
2.8.1 final: 2005/08/10

Argh...you're right again...I wonder why my Ical has all release dates one
week earlier. I was not my goal to annoy or anger you :-) The milestone
plan is correct.

Thanks! But one test still fails:

Either something is wrong with socket-address or the test should expect
ZConfig.datatypes.DEFAULT_HOST.
Fixed now. component.xml still used the old socket-address datatype, but
the new socket-binding-address works.

This test passes with Python 2.4.1 on that (Linux) box and it passes
fine with both 2.3.5 and 2.4.1 on Mac OS X.
Also, when I run the ZEO tests alone: python2.3 test.py --dir lib/
python/ZEO they pass as well.
The box I use to run the nightly tests is rather sluggish, so it may
just be an artefact of that (like other test failures have turned out to
be).
Do you have a Linux box you could confirm the failure on?
I could not see any failures on my linux box with Python 2.3.5 + trunk.

[Zope-Coders] ZConfig in SVN repository

2005-05-10 Thread Andreas Jung
Hi,
do I see right that we have two different ZConfig versions in the SVN? One
one the root level
and one under Zope/lib/python? Shouldn't we unify the versions by making
the most current version
the master?
