We have absolutely no desire to build an AJAX framework. We merely want to use 
an existing one, in our case jQuery, and use it to provide AJAX-enabled forms 
and other UI features. Liek we used Zope 3 as a framework to build the 
z3c.form* packages.

We consciously decided against KSS, for various reasons. Some of these
reasons lie in a difference of opinion on how an AJAX architecture
should work.
