SAP/DB2 and buffer pools
Member "NewDB2" is wondering if he can create
multiple buffer pools for tablespaces, or assign tables to a
buffer pool and indexes to a seperate buffer pool, or have
each tablespace have its own buffer pool. Go to our "DBA
Water Cooler" forum if you can lend NewDB2 a hand. |

Cognos and Sybase problem
Member "perfspec" is using Cognos Impromptu to
connect to a Sybase DB and build 3D data cubes. The problem
that he's having is that when he runs the SQL from Impromptu
to build the cube, it doesn't use an index. Why? Go to our
"Data warehousing" forum if you can lend perfspec a hand. |

| Tip of the Week: |
| Many client-server applications do not close
their database connections when terminated abnormally or
should a user power off their client. This can result in
un-committted database updates blocking other database
connection updates. This stored procedure will kill the
blockers that have not issued a database command in the
specified number of seconds. |
