Who is Bill Gates? Now, who is Carly Fiorina? If you could answer the first but not the second question, you are not alone. Despite being named the Most Powerful Woman in Business by Fortune magazine, only 12% of IT professionals recognize Hewlett-Packard's female CEO, compared with 98% who recognize Gates. A new survey by Roper Starch released by Deloitte & Touche, found few women are leading tech companies. Only one of 10 surveyed said the owner or CEO of their company was a woman. That is only 10%, compared to 17% in other industries. It makes those stodgy, old economy firms look positively enlightened.
