[3] "Code Red hits some Internet servers, threat remains"
Security experts worldwide are reporting minimal problems following
Tuesday's reawakening of the Code Red worm. Experts, however, caution
that it is still too early to assess its full impact and warned
administrators for a similar full alert on Sept. 1. CERT reports Code
Red has infected 80,000 servers upon its reawakening, down from the
300,000 it spiked during its first run.

[4] "Sircam just won't crawl away"
While most administrators are focused on Code Red, the Sircam worm
continues to cause problems. The worm's polymorphic nature helps it
evade realtime virus scanners, and its changing attachment dupes some
people into thinking it's legit. Security experts say they "have seen
no sign of a drop-off" in Sircam infections.

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
-------------------------------------------------
"Cusack White House campaign gathers momentum on Web"
If a bad economy and a grassroots campaign could propel an actor like
Ronald Reagan into the White House, perhaps a bad economy and a
Web-based campaign could do the same for an actor like John Cusack.
Granted, Cusack was drafted as part of a spoof by a group of
Democratic activists, but anything can happen in politics. Just ask
Al Gore. John had better make his mind up in a hurry, though. The
group is now courting his sister, actress Joan Cusack.
