LEAD STORY:
"Novell hits the mark"
InfoWorld gave Novell's GroupWise 6, a Notes competitor, its highest
rating. The review praises GroupWise for offering competitively
priced wireless client access and calls it a tool "competitors can no
longer dismiss it as a niche solution for a failed platform."

[1] "New, more damaging server worm reported"
Just when you thought it was safe to surf the Net again, another
Internet worm is infecting vulnerable Web servers running Microsoft's
Internet Information Server (IIS) software. Dubbed Code Red II,
though it's not a mutated version of Code Red but a new Net nasty,
this worm burrows into servers through the same unpatched IIS holes
as Code Red and leaves a back door open on infected computers. It's
tougher to track than Code Red and scans the Internet for the IIS
flaw 4,000% faster than Code Red, according to industry observers.

[2] "Server sales hit by slowdown in Europe, U.S."
Dataquest reports that the worldwide server market grew only slightly
in the second quarter. Compaq is still tops with 26.7% of the market;
Dell and IBM finished second and third.

automated referential integrity for Lotus Notes Databases throughout
the enterprise. This is done via 'defining' that the Source data is
being used and by what field. This not only provides a very valuable
reference point for viewing what applications are using the Source
data, but also provides Data Attender with the information so that it

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
-------------------------------------------------
"M-commerce breakthrough: Parking meters"
This may be taking mobile e-commerce (m-commerce) to a new level. In
Australia, two vendors have teamed up to install wireless parking
meters. Soprano Design and Wilson Equipment Services have more than
400 of the wireless meters running in the commercial centers in
Leichardt. Motorists can pay using Short Message Service (SMS)
messages or voice commands over their wireless devices. Coins are
still okay too. And forget about forgetting to refill the meter.
Users can receive "time's-up" alerts and refill automatically. The
one downside? The cops are using the technology to write citations
quicker as well.
