Java is probably the fastest-growing computer language out there
these days; so if you haven't tackled it yet, wait no longer. A new
computer game, Robocode, available as a free download from the IBM
alphaWorks site, teaches you Java programming while you create
virtual "robots" that can go to battle with other developers'
creations in cyberspace.

THE MISSING LINK
A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web
-------------------------------------------------
"AOL CD protest takes off"
An organized effort is under way to rid the world of those annoying
AOL software CDs that clog your snail-mailbox on a weekly basis.
Citing "needless pollution" caused by the disks, a group of eco-aware
Internet users put together a Web site called nomoreaolcds.com at the
start of this month with the stated goal of collecting one million
disks. Once collected, they plan to pollute the front lawn of AOL's
U.S. headquarters with them. More than 20 days into their campaign,
the site said it has collected 25 disks. At this rate, AOL will have
a major cleanup on its hands in just under 3,000 years.
