DATABASE DEBATE: ACCESS VS LOTUS NOTES | News: TechRepublic

The decision on choosing a good database really depends on your
current infrastructure and software investment, the user audience and
the ultimate goal of the development project. The major benefits of
the Notes database development environment are ease-of-use,
document-based architecture, sophisticated security structures, and
integration with Notes e-mail and the Domino Web engine.

LOTUS FINDS BENEFITS IN MICROSOFT'S .NET STRATEGY | News: Group
Computing

Microsoft is readying a .Net version of Exchange that it hopes will
bury Lotus in their groupware war. But it requires a data migration
process that Lotus thinks will motivate customers to switch to Notes
or iNotes. In fact, Lotus will swap customers' Exchange licenses for
Domino licenses for free.

DESPITE AN OPENING MORNING RUSH, LOTUSPHERE REGISTRATION CONTINUES |
News: Group Computing

Lotusphere is not sold out yet. In previous years, however, all the
tickets disappeared on the first morning of registration. Lotus says
slower registration isn't a surprise given the current economic
climate.

THE MISSING LINK | BAR AIMS TO REVOLUTIONIZE FLIRTING WITH TECHNOLOGY
| Reuters

If you like to meet chicks or dudes from the secure comfort of your
computer, but you kinda miss the smells of smoke and stale beer mixed
with cologne and perfume, get thee to New York's East Village. A new
bar there, Remote Lounge, marries old-fashioned flirting with
new-fashioned flirting. The place is wired to the hilt with
closed-circuit TVs, surveillance cameras, joysticks and instant
messaging -- so you can scope out (spy on) people and send them
little messages instead of reciting the dreaded "Do you come here
often" or "I've lost my phone number, may I have yours" pickup lines
that drove you out of the bars and onto the Internet in the first
place. A NYU student put it best: "It's a legalized version of
stalking." Check the place out: http://www.remotelounge.com.
