NO SURPRISE: LOTUS EMBRACES J2EE | CRN
Even though Lotus Software has pledged full support to Sun's Java 2
Enterprise Edition (J2EE), the news is hardly surprising, according
to observers, given parent company IBM's full embrace of Java.

LOTUS BOOSTS SUPPORT OF WEB SERVICES, MESSAGING | InfoWorld
To further unified messaging in the enterprise, Lotus Software has
revealed alliances with Cisco Systems and Captaris to integrate voice
with Lotus Notes. Unified communication support will enable users to
access and manage voice mail, fax, and e-mail within a single
interface.

LOTUS TO HOST SAMETIME | ZDNet
Customers will soon be able to rent a customized, hosted version of
Lotus Software's Sametime instant messaging server. Hosted by IBM
Global Services, the online service will be launched in the summer
and will lower costs as well as allow much quicker deployments,
according to Lotus.

SEARCHDOMINO ASK THE EXPERT RESPONSE | Advice: Jens Bruntt

One member asks, "I am currently doing Web applications for Web
browsers with Domino Designer. My problem is the site was built
entirely on pages. Can you offer any advice so the results of a
FTsearch will look into pages and provide a link so the user can
click and go to that page." SearchDomino's Web development expert
offers some insight.

THE MISSING LINK | From couch potatoes to armchair quarterbacks

Being a couch potato is about to get easier. It actually wasn't that
tough to begin with. Anyway, FoxSports.com is cutting the cord to its
Virtual Coach feature and taking it to Net-ready wireless devices.
Lazy boys (and girls) will be able to call plays, weigh in on
controversial game calls, vote in polls and just plain vent from
their La-Z-Boys. No calorie-burning required. Inertia has never been
so sporty! The devices, which are being made possible by Motorola and
Proteus, will be available for Super Bowl Sunday.
