IBM SIGNS UP WITH HOME DEPOT | News: InfoWorld
The Home Depot has signed a five-year deal with IBM to use its
WebSphere and DB2 products. Home Depot plans to use WebSphere to

offer better access to critical business information.

IM: TOY OR TOOL? | News: Network World
Data shows that only about one-third of organizations are using
instant messaging for approved business applications. One observer
believes instant messaging has failed to catch on in corporate
environments because of three primary concerns: security, potential
employee abuse of instant messaging, and the lack of an identified
business need for the technology.

NOTES/DOMINO 6 | SearchDomino Best Web Links

DESPITE ITS TROUBLES, LOTUS MAKES COMEBACK WITH NOTES/DOMINO 6
This Information Architect tip from SearchDomino gives an overview of
Lotus and it's current status, with the announcement of Domino Notes
6 and the controversy that plagues it. Some developers are unhappy
with the product's evolution, and others believe Notes and Domino
will soon be assimilated by IBM's WebSphere product line. Regardless,
Lotus' platform remains one of the most viable enterprise messaging
systems available today.

LOTUS NOTES/DOMINO 6: WHAT TO WATCH FOR | Advisor

Notes/Domino 6, said the software will offer useful new features. One
said better integration with WebSphere is important, but details like
getting single sign-on working are likely to be stumbling blocks.

THE MISSING LINK | Cupid's arrow finds its mark -- in cyberspace

If your "bar scene" is your keyboard and monitor, and your friends
still make fun of you for it, tell them to go reboot themselves!
Mouse clicking can get your love life clicking according to a British
psychologist. He says cybercourting can really lead to true love
because each person already knows the other pretty well before they
meet face-to-face. That makes the transition from chat room to living
room much easier and brings more depth to the relationship table.
Another advantage to virtual mackin'? The psych says guys are more
emotionally honest and open when they're online while women are more
overtly sexual. Basically, guys and gals act abnormally honest over
the Net.
