I went to Admin2002 last week, and I came back with a ton of information for administrators, including good ideas and advice from attendees and speakers. One attendee summed it all up when she said to me, "I feel like a kid in a candy store. All the information I need is right here." And many others expressed the same enthusiasm, getting hands on information to help them do their jobs better. Move on to Domino 6? Not so fast. These admins wanted to polish what they have now before moving on. What's your take?
As for you developers, there's much more to come on SearchDomino for you. For one thing, be sure to pre-register for our re-scheduled Lotus Live! Series Webcast with Lotus' Roy Bowen on Building a J2EE application for Domino and Websphere next week, as it is sure to fill up quickly.
We've also got a new poll this week, and some insight into Lotus' future. Take a moment to take our poll and comment too.

Admin tip: Enforce consistent ACL
by Chuck Connell
Perhaps the most misunderstood security feature in the whole Domino/Notes product line is the option "enforce a consistent Access Control List across all replicas of this database." The reason for the confusion is simple: This option does not enforce a consistent Access Control List across all replicas of a database.
This tip gives us an overall understanding of what the "enforce consistent Access Control List option" does.

On opening day of the Admin2002 conference, Lotus VP Scott Cooper said the IBM unit is wary of the mistakes it made with Domino R5, but has confidence in its latest products, especially regarding the upcoming release of Notes and Domino 6.
