The new release, which will serve as the underlying platform for Notes, will let developers more quickly build applications from multiple Java components. CANDLE PACKAGES WEBSPHERE SERVICES AND TOOLS | InfoWorld Candle is releasing seven packages of services and tools for designing a WebSphere infrastructure, pre-production tuning, testing, ongoing maintenance and monitoring. Just ask a 50-year-old scientist in England whose lap mishap became the subject of an article in the medical journal The Lancet. While writing a report, he left his laptop on his lap for an hour or so. Yes, he was wearing pants. The next day, his lap -- as well as some very sensitive areas -- proved to be badly burned and infected. Fortunately, he's OK. The lapse in laptop judgment cost him some comfort, and he maybe had a red face to go with his red lap -- but that's about it.
