If your organization isn't currently using instant messaging, some of the biggest vendors in the collaboration space are betting that you will soon. Lotus got a jump-start on enterprise-level IM with the release of Sametime a few years back. Now others -- like Microsoft -- have joined the fray. Heck, even AOL, Yahoo and MSN are offering corporate editions of their IM software. They promise new security features, archiving and logging capabilities, as well as user management controls. IDC says they're onto something. By 2006, the research firm thinks that nine out of every 10 businesses will be using IM. That means a lot of businesses may be making IM buying decisions pretty soon.
With so many options, how will you choose which software to use? Do you see real benefits to using Sametime given your Domino infrastructure? And as long as some consumer instant-messaging services are still free, do you have reservations about investing in enterprise-level IM software? Developer Tip: Show or hide a subform from inside a form

Ever used a "Computed Subform" in your form to show a chunk of data, and want to change or hide this subform from INSIDE the form (without exiting and reloading the form)?
This tip is useful if you want subforms loaded or not (or different subforms loaded) based, for example, on an environmental variable, and change them on-the-fly with an action bar on the form itself. |
