    Greetings from chilly New England.

As I sit here trying to sort out all the information I took in earlier last week at Lotusphere, I realize that once again, the learning has just begun. I met a lot of interesting users, talked to several Lotus product managers and many Lotus Business Partners, and all I can say is, despite information overload, I learned a lot and I came home with many ideas.

The most exciting part was delivering the SearchDomino.com Achiever Awards with Jon Panker to some of the most innovative and energized Domino professionals: Linda Davis and John Vaughn from URS Corp. and Dick Whetstone from The Virginia Commonwealth Attorney's Services' Council. Congratulations to all of you!

As for the general message from Lotus, it was quite clear: Notes and Domino are not going away -- they are being enhanced and expanded. And once again, Ambuj Goyal laid out the roadmap for the coming year. His message: "We don't want to abandon Domino, we want to move out of the Notes Domino box." Interpret that as you wish, but I must say, most of the attendees I spoke with were very positive about Notes Domino 6.5.1. Why? Because there's more room for opportunity, and in more ways than one.

On a final note, I've received a lot of feedback on our poll on Microsoft Migration Incentives. Thanks for all your comments. And don't worry, Mr. Goyal, you've got a bunch of loyal Domino developers no matter what people say about Domino going away. (Take our poll if you haven't already, and sound off.)

Be sure to take a look at our exclusive articles from last week, and look for more in this week's news. Keep the comments coming, we love to hear from you!

    Joyce

    >> iSeries not lost in Lotusphere shuffle
    by Jon Panker
The marketing hype isn't quite what it once was, but the iSeries is still playing a role in upcoming IBM Lotus releases.

    Tip of the Week:
    Developer Tip: Partial replace design
    by Sirry Hboos
This routine is designed to replace any design element using a source and a target database and the new class, NotesNoteCollection. It requires designer ACL level or higher to be executed.
