As I go through the beautiful barrage of tips that you and other SearchDomino.com members submit, I'm struck by the sheer amount of code included in them. I'm assuming that this is code you've written in your Domino travels (because we KNOW you're abiding by our "previously unpublished" rule for our tips contest).
My question this week is this: How much code do you typically reuse from our site or other sources, and how much code do you write yourself? How specific does your task need to be in order for writing the code yourself to be worth the time and effort? And besides SearchDomino.com's tips, what is your favorite code resource? I'd love to hear some stories
about your experiences using code from other people or by incorporating other code into your own.
Don't forget that we are always looking for your feedback on individual tips. Just follow the "Let us know" link at the bottom of each tip to share your opinions. Your feedback helps make each tip stronger for other site members.
Speaking of feedback, we got a few very interesting and detailed comments from our latest poll, which asked, "If you were offered migration incentives, would you be tempted to move to a Microsoft development environment?" Check them out and add your own comments.
Have a great week,
Dana

"Maximinus" writes:
I need some urgent help in finishing a project. I have a batabase based on the standard Doc Library Template of ND6 (Notes and Web). I have imported in it some data from another database but whenever I use the search feature from the Web, it works (because of the Full Text Index) but the results are displayed with in the column "topic" with instead of the doc title, which is "untitled." I assume it is just a matter of copying from the value of the "DocTitle" field into the field "topic." Does
anyone know how I can resolve this problem?
