Currently, about 80% of Rational tools work as add-ons to Eclipse. Sun to release tool for Java novices [InternetNews] Next week an early version of Java Studio Creator will debut. The developer tool, which once went by the name Project Rave, offers an alternative to integrated development environments like NetBeans and Eclipse. Lotus founder is bullish on open source [eWEEK] Mitch Kapor says open source is the only viable model for developing new desktop applications because of Microsoft's dominance in the space.
