Users are snapping up antispam products at a record pace, new research finds.


Industry group: Outsourcing is good for U.S. workers

The Information Technology Association of America reports that offshoring is actually boosting the U.S. gross domestic product and helping to generate U.S. jobs. The report states that offshore resources "lower inflation, increase productivity, and lower interest rates. This boosts business and consumer spending and increases economic activity."


Lotus angle emerges in Microsoft court case

As the state of Minnesota tries to prove that Microsoft engaged in predatory business practices that harmed consumers, it has produced 1998 e-mails that show Lotus executives were worried that the J# programming language coming out of Redmond would significantly challenge open Java.

Never mind "You've got mail." America Online is going to be telling one lucky subscriber "You've got a Porsche!" One unlucky spammer had to hand over his sweet ride as part of a lawsuit settlement with the company. Now the ISP is going to hand the car over to one of its subscribers who recently used AOL's "report spam" feature. Talk about putting the brakes on spam!
