If you haven't read this week's feature story on Domino user groups, take a couple of minutes to check it out. We'd really like to hear your thoughts. The piece takes a look at how many user groups are changing to reflect Lotus' technology road map. It seems the days of discussing just Domino and Notes are behind us. Case in point: the former "Lotus Domino/Notes User Group" in St. Louis. It's
now called the Lotus Technologies Users Group. The name change may be subtle, but it just might be emblematic of a larger shift in the mindset of Domino diehards.
Let us know if you're part of a user group, why you joined and if you feel it's time well spent. Is your group shifting its focus, evolving and gaining -- or perhaps losing -- members? Take our poll and check out our resources on user groups, which have just been updated. If you
don't see your group in our collection, drop us an e-mail and we'll be sure to add it.
Have a great week.
Jon

Developer Tip: Brian Mahoney on Java vs. LotusScript
SearchDomino.com member Teck Lung recently posted this question in our developer discussion forum: What are the advantages and disadvantages of writing a Java agent over a LotusScript agent? We asked some of our resident experts to give their thoughts about LotusScript vs. _javascript_. Brian Mahoney offers his advice in the first installment of our
developer tip series on Java vs.
LotusScript.
Security Tip: Efficient use of deny lists
by Chuck Connell
One of the simplest and most low-tech but most effective security features in Domino is the deny list. Deny lists are easy to create and maintain. Unfortunately, many organizations make poor use of this key security feature. This month's security tip presents some ideas for using deny lists efficiently. |
