McAfee GroupShield for Domino available on Sun Solaris platform [SearchDomino.com] Network Associates Inc., headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., has announced availability of McAfee GroupShield for Lotus Domino on the Sun Solaris platform. Part of the McAfee Secure Content Management Solution set, McAfee GroupShield for Domino offers Sun Solaris users an added layer of protection against viruses and malicious code. That protection includes virus detection, cleaning, content filtering and blocking, as well as secure content management capabilities that let IT managers establish rules to qualify e-mail. Added components -- McAfee Outbreak Manager, which prevents large-scale mass mailer outbreaks, and McAfee Alert Manager, which notifies IT admins of threats -- offer expanded protection while minimizing the likelihood of network disruption. Angel Infinity launches GateKeeper for Notes [SearchDomino.com] GateKeeper for Notes, touted as a powerful and scalable antispam solution, is now available. Released last month by Angel Infinity Inc., based in Londonderry, N.H., GateKeeper targets unsolicited mail before it reaches the Domino mail router. Angel Infinity says this unique structure differentiates GateKeeper from traditional spam filters. Its Challenge/Response system, which either allows or denies e-mail, is intended to help organizations stay one step ahead of spammers. GateKeeper also includes a proprietary data synchronization tool that keeps "allow" and "deny" lists in synch with contact lists. This tool, which is fully compatible with Notes/Domino R5 and R6, eliminates the need for frequent maintenance. Learn.com acquires Mentor Media Group [SearchDomino.com] Learn.com Inc., headquartered in Sunrise, Fla., has purchased the assets of Norwalk, Conn.-based Mentor Media Group Inc. Learn.com provides learning management systems, retail computer-based training products and course authoring tools. Mentor Media Group provides performance support systems products and technology that help employees, customers and suppliers to master software and e-business applications. Mentor Media Group's flagship product line, with more than seven million seat licenses sold, includes Mentor for Lotus Notes, Domino Web Access (iNotes), Sametime with "Best Practices," and QuickPlace, as well as Microsoft Windows and Office 2000 and XP. Pragmatech Software Launches Version 6.0 of Sales Productivity Solutions [SearchDomino.com] Nashua, N.H.-based Pragmatech Software Inc. has released Version 6.0 of four sales productivity applications: The RFP Machine, RFP Express, The Proposal Automation Suite and e-Proposals. The updates are intended to offer improved scalability, security and project-management capabilities. Collaboration and content maintenance enhancements are also cited, along with queue management features and server logging options with remote monitoring. Other improvements, aimed at meeting systems' high-load requirements and addressing an enterprise's availability and redundancy needs, are: leveraging MS Outlook and Notes 6 e-mail-based workflow to simplify information exchange; and, adding configuration flexibility to support clustering multiple e-Proposals servers in parallel implementations, and clustering document assembly servers. ASD Team touts Notes customization [SearchDomino.com] Vancouver, Wash.-based consultancy ASD Team Inc. has updated its Process Automation Software System (PASS) for Lotus Domino, enabling non-programmers to quickly customize Notes applications without code development. The application is not only designed to help administrators and managers to build simple or complex collaborative applications, but also to help developers get the job done quickly and reduce their workloads. Pricing information is available from the company. TLCC announces new Domino distance-learning course [SearchDomino.com] The Learning Continuum Company Ltd. (TLCC), based in Boca Raton, Florida, announces a new distance-learning course, titled Developing Domino 6 Web Applications, which teaches fundamentals of Web application design with Domino. The course includes instruction, along with special tips and techniques, and live demos and activities will be done in Domino Designer and the browser. This course prepares developers for the third exam required to become an IBM Certified Application Developer in Notes Domino 6/6.5. TLCC is offering a $100 course fee discount until June 30, 2004.
