Fingers fly in SMS speed contest

Carl Lewis, Flash Gordon, Chuck Yeager -- now Kimberly Yeo joins the society of supreme speedsters. Yeo, a 23-year-old from Singapore, set a world record in a text message speed test. In a breathtaking display of digital dexterity, Yeo banged out a 26-word, perfectly punctuated message in 43.66 seconds with none of the usual SMS shortcuts (L8r, IMO, etc.). She said that she sends out about 50 texts per day, which puts her on track for the title of Miss Carpal Tunnel Syndrome 2004.
