    by Christine Polewarczyk, Editor

Some of you thought we had left out some key sites in our recent 'Top 10 sites for Notes/Domino professionals' Featured Topic. So here's round two: 10 more sites you consider must-haves.

    Read more about this topic

     Expert Technical Advice:

    Featured Expert: Debbie Lynd
    Category: Domino Messaging

Dear Debbie: We are running Notes 5.0.11 server. Some users are having the problem on the mail retention issue. Multiple folders have been created and messages are moved to these folders with retention date set. But when the date is up, the messages are not deleted, and still remain in the folders. Is there anything I can check?
Click here to read Debbie's expert response or ask a question of your own.

    Site Exclusives:
    >> Java applet flaw found in Notes
A consultant has discovered three Java applet flaws in Lotus Notes that could expose sensitive data. IBM has not yet offered fixes, but Notes users can stay secure by disabling Java applets.

    >> Domino downsized: Express edition courts SMBs
The new Domino Messaging Express is intended for SMBs and comes with a discount for those dumping Exchange. An expert says it's more proof that Domino and the messaging market have a long life ahead.

    >> Chapter Download: Writing Java applets and Java Web Start applications
In this chapter from the book SAMS Teach Yourself Java 2 in 21 Days, by Rogers Cadenhead and Laura Lemay, you'll learn how to create both kinds of Web-based Java programming as you explore the following topics: how to create a simple applet and present it on a Web page; how to create a simple applet and present it on a Web page; how to send information from a Web page to an applet; how to store an applet in a Java archive so that it can be downloaded more quickly by Web browsers; how to create applets by the Java Plug-in, a virtual machine that improves a Web browser's Java support; how to install and run Java applications in a Web browser; and, how to publish your application's files and run it.

    Tip of the Week:
    Cool password recovery tricks
The process for having IDs sent to a repository is a bit finicky, and even small misconfigurations on the registration box will cause copies of the IDs not to be sent to the ID repository, as defined in the certificate's recovery info. Here are a few valuable tricks that you can use to collect them.

    Check those LotusScript errors!
If you have spent a lot of time working with Domino/Notes, you have probably run into incorrect LotusScript code. In this tip, Chuck Connell walks through an example of wrongly coded LotusScript and explains how to edit it to include better error handling.
