ADVICE:  Ask Alex Homsi: Domino to J2EE migration -- should you migrate?
Dear Alex: When is a migration to J2EE from Domino a reasonable choice? Based on my conversations with IBM/Lotus experts, my own experience and discussions with other experts, there are a lot of reasons NOT to migrate. But instead, to use iFrames to pull into WebSphere Portal, or to use J2EE at the back-end of Domino front-ends, or to even (gasp) do nothing.

The Missing Link

Nerd is the word in Japan
[AFP]
We call them "geeks." The Japanese call them "otaku" -- men who are into animation, comics, video games and homemade PCs. This nerdy collective is turning into the Lords of the Cha-Chings in the Land of the Rising Sun. The "otaku" represent about $2.6 billion in spending power, according to a think tank, and mainstream businesses with a yen for profits should target this brainy bunch in their marketing campaigns. Advertising only on Japan's version of the Sci-Fi Channel isn't enough, evidently. Nice to see young geeks leaving the niche!
