Hello, SearchDomino.com members! I hope those of you in the U.S. enjoyed the Labor Day holiday weekend.
This week I'd like to re-introduce you to Mathew Newman. Once upon a time, Mat was a certification expert for SearchDomino.com. Mat has just rejoined our illustrious panel of experts to answer questions for our Lotus Instant
Messaging and Sametime category.
Mat Newman has nearly 10 years experience developing, supporting, administering and consulting for Notes/Domino to all levels of government and private enterprise. For the past two years he has also operated a Lotus Authorized Education Center, where he is the principal instructor. He has a broad knowledge of Notes and Domino, from planning and implementing infrastructure to developing corporate Web sites.
I hope you will join me in welcoming Mat to our site. If you have any Sametime or other Lotus instant messaging questions, send them along and Mat will help you out.
Have a great week, everyone.
~Christine

Notes plug-in unburdens remote workers
One company's quest for mobile data synchronization ended with a Notes plug-in that literally lifted a weight off employees' shoulders.

Chapter Download: Program control statements
This chapter from the book C++: A Beginner's Guide, by Herbert Schildt, discusses the statements that control a program's flow of execution. There are three categories of program control statements: selection statements, which include the if and the switch; iteration statements, which include the for, while and do-while loops; and jump statements, which include break, continue, return and goto. Except
for return, which is discussed later in the book, the remaining control statements, including the if and for statements, are examined here. |

| Tip of the Week: |
Create a doclink between two unrelated Notes docs
A SearchDomino.com reader recently submitted a question asking for help creating a DocLink between two unrelated documents in the same database. The person tried several frustrating attempts using the Formula language to solve the problem, but it only worked about 50% of the time, and was that far too unreliable for a production application. Expert Scott Lemieux has all too often had the same frustrating experience using Formula to solve problems like these, so he developed a solution for
this scenario that uses LotusScript.
Change views selection criteria on the fly
Users want to select on the fly what documents were included in the calendar view, based on a designated category. The problem became more difficult when the designated categories were dynamic (i.e., changeable and able to be added to or deleted from). This tip creates two agents that enables users to change the views selection criteria on the fly.
Find and manage all agents
This tip contains an application that scans all databases on nominated server(s) and creates reports of all agents found -- including private agents, which are normally hidden.
