Windows in the Andes -- Microsoft to speak Inca language
[Agence France Presse]
The once-mighty Inca empire may be gone, but even Francisco Pizarro couldn't keep Microsoft from creating Quechua language versions of Windows and Office. Quechua is the tongue of the indigenous Inca peoples of South America. Nearly 10 million people speak it today, and now the computer conquistadors from Redmond, Wash., are hoping to open new Windows for them. The Quechua version is being developed in Peru.
