Although it's possible to migrate within weeks or even days, Windows
2000 migration veterans counsel a thoughtful, phased-in approach to
migration security that will let you isolate glitches early and  make
adjustments as you go.  If you follow this advice, you might be
spared what happened to ArchMedia.  The marketing and PR firm
converted 12 machines last  May and in the process lost VPN access,
email, Internet connectivity, virus-detection capabilities and
thousands of dollars in billable hours.
