LEAD STORY
"Sparks fly at open source debate"

heart of the open source community. Microsoft executives tried to
explain Redmond's perspective at the O'Reilly Open Source Convention
in San Diego. Craig Mundie told the crowd Microsoft is embracing
several pluses of the open-source movement, but is rejecting the
General Public License. The response to Mundie's speech? In a
nutshell: "Whatever!"

A look at an off-the-wall story off the Web

"Video toothbrush hunts 'debris'"

For those who think flossing is not enough: An electronic toothbrush
with a camera that can track down every last scrap of food left in
your mouth. Even though regular brushing could miss up to 40% of the
food particles hiding in the crevices of your teeth, experts say a
tool like this isn't necessary to maintain healthy teeth. Sure, but
wouldn't it be neat to have after eating a box of Oreos?
