Qualcomm, the company that makes black cell phones that go in your pocket, reportedly plans to make black boxes that go in airliners. Only these black boxes will be very different than the ones searchers hunt down after the fact. Qualcomm's system will relay real-time, in-flight cockpit conversations, flight data, and video of passengers to ground control. If anything unusual were to happen up there, ground controllers would be able to see and hear the red flags -- and possibly have a chance to react. Qualcomm will enlist the satellite technology of Globalstar to get the system off the ground. >> CLICK: http://news.cnet.com/news/0-1004-200-7698856.html?tag=nbs ____________________________________________________________________ ::::::::::::::::::: SEARCHWIN2000 CONTACTS ::::::::::::::::::: MARILYN COHODAS, Site Editor ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) >> Send me your original articles and best practices. ____________________________________________________________________ CHRISTINE POLEWARCZYK, Assistant Editor ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) >> Send me your tips, White Papers, and favorite Web sites. ____________________________________________________________________ MARGARET ROUSE, Assistant Editor ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) >> Send me your Ask the Expert questions or post them in our Discussion Forums for a quicker response. ____________________________________________________________________ ED PARRY, News Editor ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) >> Send me your news, press releases and product announcements. ____________________________________________________________________ MIKE KELLY ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) >> Contact me to sponsor this or any other TechTarget newsletter. ____________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________ :::::::::::::::::::: ABOUT THIS NEWSLETTER ::::::::::::::::::::: Created by TechTarget (http://www.techtarget.com) TechTarget - The Most Targeted IT Media Copyright 2001, All Rights Reserved.
