THE MISSING LINK | Wheaton's trek to respectability

He annoyed you as Wesley, the geeky teen space traveler on "Star
Trek: The Next Generation." Now, more than a decade later, actor Wil
Wheaton is wearing his geek distinction as a badge of honor. His
self-coded, purposefully dorky Web site, WilWheaton.net, is
attracting as many as 90,000 folks per month. And, the "enterprising"
actor's Web site has helped get him back into the good graces of many
Trekkies who dissed him for years. Wheaton, who also starred in the
1986 movie "Stand By Me," even got a cameo role in the most recent
Star Trek film.
