Net blamed for marital breakups | The Missing Link

When Great Britain's Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web in
1989, he was attempting to create a new forum for sharing information
and improving human communication. You can bet he didn't count on
this. A British group that studies married couples found the Web is
increasingly listed as a contributor in the demise of relationships.
According to the firm, one out of every 10 couples polled lists
Internet obsession as a factor in overall unhappiness. Among the
online applications most commonly driving a wedge into marital bliss
were Web pornography, sex-related chat rooms and a service that helps
people get back in contact with old classmates -- often former
admirers.
