Panda Software scanned more than 2,000 PCs across the globe and found more than 7% had the H or I versions of Klez. It's not terribly destructive, but it does pose a security threat by sharing files snatched from infected PCs as it spreads. http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/newsItem/0,289139,sid1_gci820577,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ADDITIONAL SEARCHWIN2000 NEWS HEADLINES More headlines, including those below, are available on our news page >> FULL STORIES: http://searchwin2000.techtarget.com/news - Let Klez be a lesson to you - Microsoft denies Windows incompatibility - Ballmer leads new Microsoft witness list _____________________________________________________________________ **************** SPONSORED BY: Doubleday Bookspan ******************* Earn the credentials that identify you as a top IT Professional. I currently have two other BDCs and one PDC (with DNS and WINS). I've been told that I should promote the new BDC to PDC, replicate, and then take it offline to perform the upgrade, and then promote the old PDC back. Once upgraded, I will bring the new 2000 server back live and proceed to upgrading the PDC and BDCs. Will this work or will the old NT PDC bark at the new AD box? >>CLICK to read Paul Hinsberg's expert response... http://www.searchWin2000.com/ateQuestionNResponse/0,289625,sid1_cid464356_tax285115,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= WINDOWS 2000 ADMINISTRATION | Quick Hit of the Day Here's where you can find information about manageability tools that can handle the system details that devil IT managers: antivirus tools that wipe out those demonic invaders; license management tools that help decode the satanic verses of software licensing contracts; and many other tools that can solve hellish problems. http://searchwindowsmanageability.techtarget.com/bestWebLinks/0,289521,sid33_tax287626,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= ACCESSING ACTIVE DIRECTORY WITH LDAP TOOLS | Live Webcast Who: Sakari Kouti and Mika Seitsonen, authors and trainers When: May 14 at 11:00 AM EDT (15:00 GMT) At this live Webcast, authors of "Inside Active Directory," Sakari Kouti and Mika Seitsonen, will offer expert advice on how to use LDAP search filters in various tools, such as ADSI Edit and LDP. >>CLICK to pre-register... http://searchwindowsmanageability.techtarget.com/onlineEvents/0,289675,sid33,00.html =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= WEARABLE CHIPS: PUT ON YOUR DANCIN' SHIRT | The Missing Link If you want to make the other shirts in your closet feel really understated, rack up one of Infineon's very loud shirts when they come out. A shirt where apparel meets application and fashion meets function. The German chipmaker is creating a shirt that plays MP3s. How does Infineon do it? By spinning microelectronic components and electrically conducting fabric into the shirt. All the functions are done via voice recognition. Infineon is working with the German Master School of Fashion in Munich to make the smart shirt look smarter -- so be ready to see it debut as a black turtleneck. Oh, and it's washable.
